There are only two rounds left in the MLS Fantasy Soccer 2022 season. Seattle Sounders and FC Cincinnati kick-off this week and play twice, while the rest play once.
Gameweek 28 clashes with international matches so be prepared for some fantasy regulars being unavailable.
Goalkeeper
Essential: None
Recommended: Stefan Frei (Seattle Sounders) Roman Celentano (FC Cincinnati)
The double gameweek keepers are an obvious place to start. Seattle are on the outside looking in with regards to the play-offs so Frei has everything to play for. However, the Sounders are set to have a number of players missing from their first game at the very least.
Celentano has arguably the best clean sheet opportunity of the DGW keepers with a home game against Chicago. FC Cincinnati also complete have their two matches earlier, meaning more keeperoo options.
Possible: Djordje Petrovic (New England Revolution) Eloy Room (Columbus Crew) Joe Willis (Nashville SC)
Defenders
Essential: None
Recommended: Matt Miazga (FC Cincinnati) Kai Wagner (Philadelphia Union)
Miazga has two clean sheets in four and fantasy scores of four and five points from the other two games. He faces a depleted Sounders team in his first game before a home game against Chicago.
With scores of eight points in each of his last three road games, Wagner is capable of running up another big score. The Union travel to low-scoring Charlotte FC, who are 24th in the league for goals at home.
Possible: Brandon Bye (New England Revolution) Steven Moreira (Columbus Crew) Julian Araujo (LA Galaxy) Alexander Callens (NYCFC) Andreu Fontas (Sporting Kansas City) Walker Zimmerman (Nashville SC)
Midfield
Essential: Lucho Acosta (FC Cincinnati)
As the only premium midfielder with two games this week, Lucho is an easy pick and will be a (very) popular captain choice.
Recommended: Riqui Puig (LA Galaxy) Hany Mukhtar (Nashville SC)
Puig has already established himself as an important fantasy asset with goal involvements in five of his seven appearances, including three assists against Colorado last week.
In his last eight games Hany Mukhtar has 11 goals, five assists and hasn’t gone below nine fantasy points in any of those matches. He’s a bargain at $17.5m.
Possible: Carles Gil (New England Revolution) Lucas Zelarayan (Columbus Crew) Ryan Gauld (Vancouver Whitecaps) Santi Rodriguez (NYCFC) Erik Thommy (Sporting Kansas City)
Forwards
Essential: None
Recommended: Brenner (FC Cincinnati) Brandon Vazquez (FC Cincinnati) Lorenzo Insigne (Toronto FC)
Vazquez has more goal involvements over the season (16 goals and six assists) but Brenner has the recent form with five goals and an assist in two spectacular performances.
Insigne has six goals and two assists in nine appearances for Toronto. Their visitors, Inter Miami, have conceded 11 times in thei last five road games.
Possible: Federico Bernardeschi (Toronto FC) Diego Rubio (Colorado Rapids) Cucho Hernandez (Columbus Crew) Kei Kamara (CF Montreal) Chicharito (LA Galaxy)

1. Acosta
2. Mukhtar
3. Brenner
