Only one round of fixtures remains before MLS Fantasy Soccer 2022 draws to a close. We end the season with another mini double gameweek as Inter Miami and Orlando City play twice.
Whatever happens this week, hopefully this season has been a good one for you. Thanks for reading.
Goalkeeper
Essential: None
Recommended: Drake Callender (Inter Miami) Pedro Gallese (Orlando City)
The two DGW keepers are the obvious choices with the extra fixture and both Miami and Orlando still fighting for a play-off spot.
Possible: Carlos Coronel (NYRB) Andre Blake (Philadelphia Union) Maarten Paes (FC Dallas) Dayne St Clair (Minnesota United) Zac MacMath (Real Salt Lake)
Defenders
Essential: None
Recommended: Damion Lowe (Inter Miami) Andrew Brody (Real Salt Lake)
Lowe is another solid fantasy option. He has hit double figures four times this season for fantasy points and picked up a couple of bonus points during his clean sheet performance at Toronto last week.
Six times this season Brody has managed scores of five points or more without a clean sheet. He’s up against Portland this week with the season on the line.
Possible: Joao Moutinho (Orlando City) Brooks Lennon (Atlanta United) Jack Elliott (Philadelphia Union) Jose Martinez (FC Dallas) Yeimar Gomez Andrade (Seattle Sounders)
Midfield
Essential: None
Recommended: Facundo Torres (Orlando City) Sebastian Driussi (Austin FC)
Torres has 10 goals and 10 assists in 2022 and two chances to end the season with a big score.
While Austin while safely finish the season in second place in the West, Driussi still has an outside chance of winning the Golden Boot. But he will need something special (at least a hat-trick) to overhaul Hany Mukhtar.
Possible: Alejandro Pozuelo (Inter Miami) Mauricio Pereyra (Orlando City) Lewis Morgan (NYRB) Daniel Gazdag (Philadelphia Union) Rique Puig (LA Galaxy) Hany Mukhtar (Nashville SC) Emanuel Reynoso (Minnesota United) Ryan Gauld (Vancouver Whitecaps)
Forwards
Essential: None
Recommended: Gonzalo Higuain (Inter Miami) Ercan Kara (Orlando City)
Higuain has six goals in six games and will be hoping to end his MLS career by leading Miami to the play-offs at the very least.
With three goals in six games Kara is another reliable goalscorer. He looks like a solid bench choice this week.
Possible: Leonardo Campana (Inter Miami) Brenner (FC Cincinnati) Cucho Hernandez (Columbus Crew) Mikael Uhre (Phildelphia Union) Julian Carranza (Philadelphia Union) Jesus Ferreira (FC Dallas) Chicharito (LA Galaxy) Cristian Arango (LAFC) Jerrerson Savarino (Real Salt Lake)
Captain
1. Higuain
2. Torres
3. Driussi
