MLS Fantasy Soccer 2022 GW24

It’s now or never for anyone hoping to reach the Champions League competition for MLS Fantasy Soccer 2022. Gameweek 24 is the final round of qualifying so there is much to play for. We can look forward to a standard card with each team playing once.

Goalkeeper

Essential: None

Recommended: None

Possible: Dayne St. Clair (Minnesota United) Carlos Coronel (NYRB) Andre Blake (Philadelphia Union) Maarten Paes (FC Dallas) Rocco Rios Novo (Atlanta United) Djordje Petrovic (New England Revolution)

It doesn’t look like a great week for goalkeeper options so it might be an idea to buy a couple of lower priced keepers and use the extra funds elsewhere.

Defenders

Essential: None

Recommended: Diego Palacios (LAFC) Brooks Lennon (Atlanta United)

The best fantasy defenders are those who have clean sheet and attacking potential. Palacios is one of those players, with three shut-outs and three assists in six games.

Brooks Lennon is back. His first 90 minutes since Gameweek 14 resulted in an assist and eight points. This week he’s up against a DC United side who have blanked in five straight games and conceded six times against Philadelphia last week.

Possible: John Tolkin (New York Red Bulls) Kai Wagner (Philadelphia Union) Oliver Mbaizo (Philadelphia Union) Jose Martinez (FC Dallas) Thiago Martins (NYCFC)

Midfield

Essential: Hany Mukhtar (Nashville SC)

47 points from his last three games and 40 points from his last four road games. Enough said.

Recommended: Emanuel Reynoso (Minnesota United) Carles Gil (New England Revolution)

In his last eight appearances, Reynoso has only once scored less than seven points. During that time he has managed seven goals and five assists.

Despite a disappointing two points at Montreal, Gil is still a solid choice. He has a home match with LA Galaxy who have conceded nine times in their last three games.

Possible: Sebastian Driussi (Austin FC) Lewis Morgan (NYRB) Lucho Acosta (FC Cincinnati) Lucaz Zelarayan (Columbus Crew) Daniel Gazdag (Philadelphia Union) Thiago Almada (Atlanta United)

Forwards

Essential: None

Recommended: Cristian Arango (LAFC) William Agada (Sporting Kansas City)

Chicho has goal involvements in 10 of his last 13 matches and is up against Austin FC, who have conceded 10 goals over their last three home games.

Despite just four appearances of 70+ minutes, Agada has five goals and one assist already. He faces the Quakes who have conceded seven times in their last two road games.

Possible: Raul Ruidiaz (Seattle Sounders) Luis Amarilla (Minnesota United) Brandon Vazquez (FC Cincinnati) Cucho Hernandez (Columbus Crew) Mikael Uhre (Philadelphia Union) Romell Quioto (CF Montreal)

Captain

1. Reynoso

2. Mukhtar

3. Gil
