MLS Fantasy Soccer 2022 GW25

The MLS Fantasy Soccer 2022 season has reached Gameweek 25. So, as well as only having five rounds left in the season, we have also reached the Champions League competition. Good luck to all those managers who have qualified.

This round is a huge double gameweek, with 20 teams playing twice.

Goalkeeper

Essential: None

Recommended: Andre Blake (Philadelphia Union)

With four clean sheets in his last seven games and fantasy scores of eight, five and seven in his last three home matches Blake looks like a solid option. The Union start at home to Atlanta before travelling to the Red Bulls.

Possible: Eloy Room (Columbus Crew) Djordje Petrovic (New England Revolution) Sean Johnson (NYCFC) Maxime Crepeau (LAFC) Joe Willis (Nashville SC)

Defenders

Essential: Kai Wagner (Philadelphia Union)

Another game, another 16 points (including a clean sheet, an assist and three big chances created) for Wagner last week. An easy pick.

Recommended: Richie Laryea (Toronto FC) Dave Romney (Nashville SC)

Laryea now has 34 points in five games since returning to Toronto. He has three assists during that time and has two home games to look forward to.

With back-to-back cleans sheets, there are signs that Nashville are becoming a reliable defensive options once again. Romney has 25 points from his last two games and one goal, two assists and two clean sheets from his last four.

Possible: Jack Elliott (Philadelphia Union) Joel Waterman (CF Montreal) Brandon Bye (New England Revolution) Domenico Criscito (Toronto FC) Thiago Martins (NYCFC) Diego Palacios (LAFC) Julio Cascante (Austin FC)

Midfield

Essential: Hany Mukhtar (Nashville SC)

It’s now 16 goals and 11 assists for Mukhtar this season and he has two home games this week. His most recent fantasy scores playing at home are 21, 9 and 17.

Recommended: Lucas Zelarayan (Columbus Crew) Carles Gil (New England Revolution)

Zelarayan’s recent performances haven’t been at the same level as earlier in the season but he is capable of delivering big performances at home to Miami and Chicago.

Since twice scoring four points in weeks 19 and 20, Gil has returned double figures three times in five games. He also has two home games.

Possible: Daniel Gazdag (Philadelphia Union) Thiago Almada (Atlanta United) Lewis Morgan (NYRB) Nicolas Lodeiro (Seattle Sounders) Santi Rodriguez (NYCFC) Sebastian Driussi (Austin FC) Emanuel Reynoso (Minnesota United)

Forwards

Essential: None

Recommended: Cucho Hernandez (Columbus Crew) Lorenzo Insigne (Toronto FC)

Cucho has four goals and an assist from four games. He looks to be one of the best striker options this week.

Insigne has 44 points from five games. He faces LA Galaxy (who have conceded 10 goals in four games) and CF Montreal

Possible: Julian Carranza (Philadelphia Union) Romell Quioto (CF Montreal) Federico Bernardeschi (Toronto FC) Javier Hernandez (LA Galaxy) Crisitan Arango (LAFC)
