MLS Fantasy Soccer 2021 GW24

Gameweek 24 of the MLS Fantasy Soccer 2021 season will be a drawn-out affair, with fixtures stretching over the next two weekends. This week also sees the start of the Champions League.

The following teams are on a double week: Colorado Rapids, FC Cincinnati, Inter Miami, Minnesota United, New York Red Bulls, Philadelphia Union, Seattle Sounders and Vancouver Whitecaps. FC Dallas are on a bye and the rest play once.

Once again, a host of players are on international duty but watch out for some being available for fixtures later in the round.

Goalkeepers

Strongly Consider

Carlos Coronel (New York Red Bulls) looks like an obvious bench keeper with two home games, including the first match of the road against Inter Miami.

Other promising DGW keepers this week are Stefan Frei (Seattle Sounders) and Tyler Miller (Minnesota United).

Think About

Przemyslaw Tyton (FC Cincinnati), Tim Melia (Sporting Kansas City) and whoever starts for New England Revolution are also worth some thought.

Defenders

Strongly Consider

New York Red Bulls don’t have many international absentees, and Kyle Duncan, Andrew Gutman and John Tolkin all pose an attacking threat. Gutman scored 15 points against FC Cincinnati last time out while Duncan hit 12 against NYCFC the week before.

From Seattle Sounders consider the bonus point potential of Yeimar Gomez Andrade or the attacking/subbed early potential of Jimmy Medranda?

Think About

As well as Minnesota United coverage, DeJuan Jones (New England Revolution), Kai Wagner (Philadelphia Union) and Andreu Fontas (Sporting Kansas City) are all reliable options.

Midfield

Strongly Consider

With scores of 3 and 2 in his past couple of games Carles Gil (New England Revolution) is in something of a mini slump. But he still has an average of 8.48.

Ryan Gauld (Vancouver Whitecaps) continues to rack up the bonus points and managed a fantasy score of 10 points against San Jose Earthquakes.

Joao Paulo (Seattle Sounders) produced a season best 14 points against Colorado Rapids last week – it was the Brazilian’s fourth double figure return this year.

Think About

Despite so many players missing this week there are still plenty of midfield options. Look at Franco Fragapane or Emanuel Reynoso (both Minnesota United), Lucho Acosta (DC United), Ezequiel Barco (Atlanta United) and Jack Price (Colorado Rapids).

Forwards

Strongly Consider

Patryk Klimala (New York Red Bulls) has seven goals and five assists from his first season in MLS but has blanked in his last three. This week he faces potentially weakened defences in Inter Miami and NYCFC.

From his last five games Johnny Russell (Sporting Kansas City) has scores of 7, 15, 7, 7 and 15. He only plays once (at Vancouver Whitecaps) but is in great form right now.

Think About

Cristian Arango (LAFC) has already hit double figures three times this season but recent returns are less encouraging. He has a home match against San Jose Earthquakes.

Kacper Przybylko (Philadelphia Union), Will Bruin (Seattle Sounders), Gustavo Bou (New England Revolution) and Ola Kamara (DC United) are all worth considering this week.
